A beautiful tribute to MH17 and MH370

I Am Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following paths God made for me
I took his hand, I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace ... at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened...deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savored much
Good friends, good times
A loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now
He set me free.

New phone cover

See what I found today! A new funky phone cover for my large Samsung Note. Yay! I'm beyond excited, feels so much like a kid with new toy. I've been looking for such cover for a long time but couldn't find something I like. So when I saw this I was soooo happy. There were some sensible (read=adult) options but heck who gonna judge me if I get myself this funky kiddy one? I couldn't care less! So here,  gonna show it off to everyone and wouldn't feel silly doing so.

Sick kids, blog header and art supplies

Hi, it's dry and hazy season here in my country and the kids are down with flu and cough. My son is having bronchiolitis and has to use a nebulizer every 4-6 hours. So even though it's Eid holiday we can't go anywhere because of that. So, the four of us has been spending some family time at home and I even made a header for this blog. Here it is...

What do you think? I bought some bling bling stickers from a local craft shop and they are so cool that I decided to use them for the header. And they are super cheap as well...like less than RM2 per sheet (less than US$1).

Also, last Saturday we went to visit that cute Japanese shop, Daiso, and I splurged on some art supplies!
Oooohhh...I can't wait to use them all especially those masking tape with cute patterns on them!

Cheerful art

Since MH17 tragedy I have been working on two pages of doodles featuring my kawaii characters. I have been thinking to create some sort of 'mourning' doodles to mourn the loss of 298 lives but decided not to pursue it but to continue with my 'happy and cheerful' art. I have mourned enough and still mourning for them and for my country. I still weep whenever I think of this tragedy. Justice will prevail. Someone will pay, perhaps not now but in afterlife, I am sure of it. My art will continue to reflect cheerfulness in hope to bring smiles and happiness to this sad and sorrowful world. Where there is darkness, there is light. And my art will be one of the candles that lighted the darkness and despair in this world.

Be joyful

My heart bleeds

Two days ago our nation and the world woke up to a devastating news - MH17 was shot down over the borders or Ukraine and Russia. MH17 belongs to my country, Malaysia and the pain of losing a plane, 4 months after MH370 is too much to bear. Like the rest of my fellow countrymen (and many others globally) I've been grieving and I still teared up when I read or watch the news. How could anyone fired a missile on commercial plane full of unsuspecting and innocent civilians? How could anyone be so evil?  Where is their conscience? Don't they fear God? I feel so angry and upset. There were babies and young children on board and what threat could they possessed? Till today I still couldn't bring myself to watch the footage of the burning plane. It is just too painful. Imagine their terror, the screams...plummeted to their death. They are victims of war that concerned them not at all. I pray to God whoever did this will be brought to justice. We vow not to leave no stones unturned. My heart goes to their families and loved ones...the pain of losing someone so tragically is immeasurable. I pray and hope they will find comfort and strength going through this tragedy.

Sleep peacefully among the clouds, soar with the birds through the sky, dear ones.

Doodling on train

Hilarious isn't it? Ok this photo is not mine but belongs to artist/illustrator October Jones (real name Joe Butcher). You can find the whole story and other pictures here. On his daily commute to work this artist decided to fill his boring ride by being creative and drew some funny heads for other passengers. They were not aware of course and he wasn't poking fun on them. I thought this kind of spontaneous artwork is very charming and fun.

Doodling, anyone?

One of my favorite artists is Aimee from Artsyville. I found Aimee's art by accident when I was browsing the web looking for other artists artwork. Her artwork is sooo full of colors and I'm in love! She is super creative by incorporating her own wisdom/quotes in her doodles...they are charming and witty. You should check out her Instagram photos, they are so colorful it's addictive. I look forward to her post everyday because they always bring a smile to my face.

I feel so inspired by Aimee that I decided to create some doodles with fun wordings. Here are some of my artwork.

In love with Dover Coloring Books!

I had a difficult pregnancy last year and I couldn't do much most of the time. I was in no mood to pursue my affiliate marketing stuff and was stressed due to constant nausea and vomiting (that lasted till the day I delivered). So to past the time I decided to order some Dover coloring books. I had printed some sample pages on the web but I was itching to get my hands on the real thing. They don't sell these books in my country and the only place I can get them is by ordering online. So I ordered several copies from Book Depository because they provided free shipping worldwide (yay!). I anxiously waited for 3 longs weeks and one fine Saturday morning, a mailman knocked on our door and tadaaaa....my coloring books are here! I was beyond ecstatic! It was like receiving an early Christmas present!

I had a blast coloring these books, even my husband was hooked. Here are some of the pages we managed to color so far..

So what do you think? They are so cool right? If you want to have the same fun, you can order your copies here: Dover coloring pages. Coloring them with family members is a great way to bond especially with the kids. The coloring process is so relaxing and in fact my hubby has been using this as his way to de-stress after a long day/week at work. Try it and you definitely will love it too!
