About

Hi, welcome to Sorta Artsy!

I'm Nadra or also known as Anais (don't ask why I have two names, and of course they aren't real names. Lame?) The idea to create this blog is inspired by some artwork that I created for my then 2 years old daughter (she's 4 now). Ok let me be clear - I'm not a professional artist or anything like that. I created all these artwork for fun and mainly to inspire my daughter to draw since she loves to scribble and play with crayons. I thought why not make it as a fun mom-daughter activity? I could draw and she can sit down next to me and drawing and coloring too. Now like I said I am no artist but I do love artsy activities mainly doodling, coloring and crafting now and then. As a child I loved to draw and even dreamed of becoming an artist! But lo and behold I was told there is no money in art so I took the safe route and became a prim and  proper office worker. Then I had a child and decided to be a SAHM. Fast forward 4 years later I had another baby and I been itching to be creative again. So I started to doodle and learn to draw cute characters.

So the drawings you found on this blog were created while I was sitting next to my daughter as she 'drew' and also when the baby naps (which is not long at all - 30 mins at most?) I love Japanese kawaii art and cute animal characters and the things I drew are inspired by those cute Japanese cartoons.

These drawings can be found on souvenir items shop - Sorta Artsy.

All sales proceed are for my kids' educational fund.

Also this blog is not just about my creative endeavors. There are LIFE in there as well, meaning stuff happened in my life, funny anecdotes, reflections or just plain musings (rantings?) unrelated to art, so bear with me.

Thank you for visiting!

P/s You probably noticed that English is not my first language hence they will be lots of grammatical errors - yes I know you will or are mentally correcting my grammar (LOL) and sometimes I will write in my native tongue or in several other languages/dialects (I'm fluent in Malay, Iban and little bit of Kadazan), but mainly I will write in English.
