We arrived at the part sometime before noon and decided to have our lunch at the nearby Hornbill Cafe. The food was okay, pricey of course but the service was good and I loved that the place was very clean and they have baby diaper changing station in the ladies washroom.
Right after lunch we proceeded to the ticket counter to buy our tickets. We are Malaysians (you need to show your MyKad or MyKid) so we enjoyed discounted rates: adult - RM25/pax and kids from 3-12yo: RM12/pax, free for babies and toddlers! There were quite a number of visitors mostly tourists but it wasn't crowded at all. My daughter was super excited and couldn't wait to go in. So here are some photos taken on that day.
Some of things I noticed about this place:
1) This park is clean and very well maintained
2) You can feed the birds (some of them) using bird seeds that you can buy from vending machines
3) There's a canteen where you can buy drinks and snacks and chairs and benches for resting
4) There's a playground at the furthest end of the park
5) There's a pond with waterfall where you can take close up pictures of peacocks
6) Lots of peacocks! You can even touch their beautiful feathers.
Is this park worth visiting? I guess as a parent of young children I would say yes but make it fun and educational by providing them reading materials about birds before and after the trip. A few days after this trip I printed some bird activity sheets for my daughter just for fun. She loved it and wished to visit this place again in the future. Here's a photo of the activity sheets I printed for my daughter.
And here's the video of my daughter touching a peacock.
And a video of us feeding an emu!
