- Attractive colorful shelves can motivate your child to pick up reading. Look for a shelf with your child's favorite colors, cartoons or patterns.
- Bookshelves with bins have their added advantage because you can organize your child's toys and books at one spot.

When you look at the picture, this shelf doesn't seem to hold many books but many users are pleasantly surprised that this is not the case. In fact one satisfied user commented that this shelf can hold much more than any typical floor wooden bookcase. It is sturdy and has no sharp edges. However do hang it higher than 3 feet from the floor to avoid 'accidents' because the shelf do stick out quite a bit. At the time of this writing this product has received close to 200 reviews from users and almost everyone of them are giving this product a five star rating. So what is so awesome about this product? I read some of the reviews and most of them are happy because this bookcase and storage is so sturdy and has roomy toy chest. In fact the picture shown below does not give justice to the size of this bookcase. It is actually big enough that two young children can climb in and play inside the chest! Wow!
Another great feature of this product is the toy compartment lid that can be lifted up and slide easily back into the top. Please not that there is a tiny gap between the lid and the toy chest so that little ones can grab the lid easier on their own. This product is available in pink (lid) and red (lid).
However please note that the bookshelf may not be tall enough to store some bigger books but it is perfect place for board books. Also some potential buyers are not happy with the shipping cost thus refrained from purchasing it.
Bookcases with bins - Some of the bins are limited in colors. The bins sizes are standard so you might want to purchase some bins in different colors if you don't like the original bins.

Among the shelves featured in this article, this one probably is my favorite due to the cute Sesame Street theme! This theme is available on several other furniture for kids like toy box, table and chair sets.
This shelf has thirteen storage compartments including eight plastic bins. Available in two colors - white and espresso. I personally like the espresso one because it doesn't look so much like a 'kid's shelf' and perhaps coordinates better with your other furniture.
I like this shelf because it has curve edges on the three upper compartments. They prevent the toys/books from dropping and it looks more organized. One tiny thing that may prevent potential buyers from purchasing this shelf is that the fabric bins are available in pink only. However if you don't like them you might actually buy similar bins separately in different colors because the bins sizes are standard.

Please note that Teamson Garden Collection includes other furniture such as table lamp, toy chest, rocking chair, potty chair and many more. So if you are looking for a theme to decorate your child's room, perhaps you want to check the rest of the collection. Personally I don't mind buying the whole collection (yes, if I can afford it) because they look so adorable!
Anyway, majority of the reviewers commented that this shelf is sturdy but the size is actually quite small so if you are expecting a big shelf then perhaps you want to skip this one. For a better view of the product do watch the video below.
